Inspiration

There are 2 people that i admire and look up to in this world. The first one is Abraham Lincoln, the 16th president of United States.

He once said that ” The Best Way To Predict Future Is To Create It. ” this makes me realise that in order to success in the future. we must work for it. there’s no free lunch in this world. Therefore, In order to achieve my goal and get into my dream university, i must work hard and create the ‘path’ that will lead me straight to the city of machester.

Besides Abraham Lincoln, The other person that i look up to is Barack Obama. He is the 44th and the current president of United States.

This Quote of his has taught me a lot of things. From this quote i understand that nothing will happen if we just sit and wait for it to happen. we have to make it happen. we are the ones that make the impossible possible.

Action Plan

In the year of 2014, I enrolled myself for Cambridge A Levels in Taylor’s College Subang Jaya. For the first 3 months all I ever did was go to class and listen to the lecture. I never did my own revision and didn’t make the extra effort to improve myself. In the month of May, I had my semester exam. Which my result was only average due to lack of revision and effort, and that’s when I realised that I needed to set a goal for myself in order achieve something greater and better. Up till now, I’m still holding on to this goal. The goal that I’ve set for myself is to get straight A in A levels by the end of the course.

In order to achieve my goals, I have to work on all 4 of my subjects which is Mathwmatics, Chemistry, Physics, and Economics. Out of all 4 subjects, chemistry is one of the subject that I’m having difficulties in. That is why I would focus on my chemistry now so that I can get a better result for chemistry in the upcoming exam. If I put in all my effort and work through this goal, I would be able to get good grades and get the chance to study in a better university. Besides that, I would also makes parents proud. They sacrificed a lot of time and money just to raise me and make sure I get the best education. Therefore I have to study hard and make sure that I don’t disappoint them. In the process of working to achieve my goal, there will be obstacles and problems. One of the problems is unable to understand or absorb the knowledge that are provided in the books.

To overcome the difficulties and obstacles, some action step must be taken. For example, I’ll have group studies with my friend once in awhile just to help each other out and obtain a better understanding. Besides that. I’ll also draft up a timetable just to make sure that all the time are used up efficiently to speed up my studies.

In the process of working towards my goal, my friend and family are my biggest support system. They always advice me on studies and life. My family has always been supportive towards my decision. They always give me advice and help me out whenever I’m facing problems. My friends also helped out a lot. They help me with my homework whenever I don’t know how to do.

I think that The biggest obstacle that I’ll face in completing this goal is the temptation to have fun and rest. Besides that. Procrastination is also one of the biggest obstacle I’ll face. These obstacles will delay my studies and obstruct my goal.

Therefore, in order to overcome these obstacles. I’ll have to always remind myself about my goal. Lastly, bad habits such as laziness and procrastination will also be eliminated in order to make sure that my studies is efficient and my goal is achieved.

Description

This year I joined a club which was totally new to me, which was the Frisbee Club. I thought it would be quite fun to play. We had to go to practice every Thursday for 2 hours everyday. In the first few practices, the seniors explained the rules of the game since some if not most of us were new to this sport. After a few practices, it was time for us to play a game. But it was obvious that we could not play well as a team since we still don’t know each other that well. But after a few sessions of practice, we showed signs of improvement as we learnt how to communicate and cooperate with each other. Our team chemistry improved while we played together more, and the game became more competitive. individually, our stamina greatly increased as we were required to run around the field.

At the time I am writing this, Frisbee practice has already ended and I have just finished my AS level finals exam.

Interpret

I initially joined the club because i thought it would be fun, but I never thought I would learn so many things from it. The inter-personal skills like good communication skills and teamwork. I was able to understand team dynamics and the power of working together as a team. The whole experience was also able to help me improve on my communication skills. It makes it easier for me to communicate with people around me and new people who i just meet.

Through joining the club, I was also able to learn discipline and specific knowledge. For instance, I was able to put to practice all the theories about defense and offense which was taught to me verbally. I also learned discipline as I tried my best to be on time for every practice and not miss any of it.
Evaluate

The interpersonal skill that I have learned will help me a lot especially when I am in university and doing group assignments or projects because I know that getting something done together is more efficient than doing it alone. I
would also be able to communicate better with new people and make new friends when I am studying in university. With better communication skills, I could also communicate better with new acquaintances when I am working in the future. In the future I would also be able to put theories I have learnt within my field of studies into professional practices.

Plan

This whole experience have taught me quite a few life lessons. Me and my friends have decided next year to stay at the club and help our juniors to learn the lessons we did and experience something they might never forget.
